A Rosato (Italian) wine, (also known as rosado in Spanish or rosé in France) is a type of wine that has some of the color typical of a red wine, but only enough to turn it pink. The pink color can range from a pale orange to a near purple, depending on the grapes and wine making techniques. Medium-sweet roses gained popularity after the Second World War. Created in the 1970's, White Zinfandel is a classic example. True rosés tend to be "bigger" and drier in style.
Woodbridge Winemaker's Selection Rosato is a refreshing, off-dry blush wine with floral, strawberry and white pepper aromas. Refreshing and light, our California Rosato pairs especially well with creamy brie cheese and sliced fruit. Rosato is a refreshing aperitif and is great with food. Drink well chilled.
