Grenache Blanc is an important variety grown in France's Rhone Valley. It yields wines with perfumed aromas of citrus and a fresh herbal quality. Typically blended with other Rhone varietals, namely Rousanne, Grenache Blanc provides length and flavor to blends. Grenache Blanc is thought to have originated as a mutation of the red grape Grenache, typically grown in Spain.
Enticing aromas of fresh herb and anise with sweeter flavors of marzipan, apple and spicy floral notes, are the hallmarks of our Woodbridge Winemaker's Selection Grenache Blanc. Being a fuller bodied wine makes this wine a perfect complement to richer foods, our classic Lodi, California Grenache Blanc is at its best when paired with tangy cheeses and shellfish. Try it with a creamy scallop risotto to really bring out the rich flavors of the wine. Drink well chilled.
