Barbera is believed to have originated in the hills of Monferrato in Italy's Piedmont region. Barbera is the third most-planted grape variety in Italy with the best known appellations being Barbera d'Asti and Barbera d'Alba. It yields wines with perfumed aromas of a floral, spicy quality and a bright acidity. Popular for its higher yields and ability to retain acid in hotter climates, Barbera is widely planted throughout the Central Valley.
Woodbridge Winemaker's Selection Barbera has intense bright red fruits with fresh herbal accents of tarragon, herbs du provence, lavender and smoky spice. Our Barbera is the perfect wine to accompany your summer barbecue. Higher in acid then other reds, this wine's vibrant red fruits and fresh herbal notes of tarragon and lavender complement grilled meats perfectly. Finish off your meal with a refreshing blackberry-barbera granita sprinkled with finely chopped mint.Where to BuyEat & Drink
