Makeshift Rolling Pin
We find that a tapered wooden pin does the best job of rolling out pie pastry. But here’s a way to roll out dough when a pin is nowhere to be found. An unopened wine bottle has the right weight and shape for rolling out dough. If possible, use white wine and chill the bottle. The cold temperature of the bottle will help keep the butter in the dough chilled.
